Here at Bumpin Blends, we are so, so grateful for our incredible healthcare workers, along with all other essential workers on the front lines of this war while we are doing our part by staying home and practicing social distancing.

I am sure I am not alone in feeling the need to help and support the brave doctors, nurses, dietitians, and other health care professionals and hospital staff that are going to work every day and taking care of those who fall ill. They are putting themselves and their families at risk to protect our lives and here at Bumpin Blends we want to make sure they know how much we appreciate them!

Here are 5 ways you can help support our incredible health care workers today.

#1 – Stay Home and Practice Social Distancing

The most important thing you can do is to stay healthy. Doing so means you will not need medical attention and you will also not inadvertently spread the virus to others. Yes, it is inconvenient. Yes, it is suffocating. Yes, it is tough to be away from friends and family. Yes, it is a strain on our finances. In the end, staying home and staying healthy is what will help us flatten the curve so we avoid overwhelming our health care system (and health care workers). You can do this!

#2 – Tend to Their Garden or Home

Do you have a healthcare or other essential worker living on your street who is working around the clock? Take an hour out of your day to mow their lawn, tend to their plants, or do some maintenance work in their garden. Just be sure to wear gloves and a mask, of course!

#3 – Gift a Bumpin Blends Smoothie Bundle or Gift Card

A Bumpin Blends gift card or Woman on the Run Bundle will make sure a health care worker gets a supply of nutritious, easy frozen smoothie cubes delivered to their door. Not only will this save her time, it will ensure she gets a nutritious blend of organic ingredients that will boost her immune system and help her maintain a healthy diet during this stressful time.

During the Covid-19 crisis, all Bumpin Blends profits are donated to the LA Food Bank to provide support feeding kids who are no longer getting their meals at school (80% of LAUSD kids live below the poverty line and were receiving their only meal of the day at school).

#4 – Make a Handwritten Thank You Note

Showing appreciation doesn’t have to cost anything. Write a thoughtful note and drop it in the mailbox of a healthcare worker in your neighborhood. If the person lives far away, an email or a text message works just as well. Or, you could write a note to healthcare workers you don’t know personally and mail it to your local hospital!

#5 – Cook or Order them a Healthy Meal

For anyone working in the healthcare system right now, time and energy are resources dedicated to the profession and place of work. Whatever you can do to make sure the time they have at home is filled with nourishing their bodies with food, rest and sleep is going to be incredibly helpful. So if you can, cook a meal that they can keep in the fridge or freezer, or order something to be delivered to their door when they are home.
