Kitchen Hack: How to Clean Your Blender in Seconds
As you might imagine, the team here at Bumpin Blends gets a lot of use out of the blender. It’s a magical kitchen tool, riiiight up until it’s time to clean that sucker out. And I don’t know about you, but I’m lazy about dishes. I don’t actually know how I made it through all those years of not having a dishwasher, because now, I pretty much require that everything can just be thrown in there. Unfortunately, the blender calls for the old-fashioned kind of cleaning—unless you know this thirty-second blender hack. It’s fast, easy, and shockingly, works san dishwasher.
The Fastest, Easiest Way to Clean the Blender
This kitchen hack has four steps, and I promise you, it could not be easier.
Step 1: Rinse out the blender with hot water.
Step 2: Drop a dime sized amount of soap into the cup, followed by some hot water. I fill it up a little less than halfway.
Step 3: Screw it on, stick it back on the stand, and blend away. The soap foams up in the water and cleans the cup and blades perfectly in seconds!
Step 4: Rinse and dry.
Easy peasy, right? It gets better. Let’s say you’ve got some stuck-on foods in your blender and that first whizz didn’t quite do the trick. Instead of hot water and soap in step one, make it hot water and a few tablespoons of baking soda. Blend that up for a few seconds, discard, and repeat steps one through four above. Done!
Now that you know, you’ll never again have to let the thought of dealing with a dirty blender keep you from making your favorite Bumpin Blends smoothie.
Obligatory Reminder
This is a great hack, but it’s still a good idea to deep clean your blender every so often. Do the whole drill—clean the jar, gasket seal, and blade with hot, soapy water, and then let them air dry before reassembling. And don't forget to unplug the base and wipe it down well with a damp cloth.
